Not all loss calls for surgery
A widening part, diffuse shedding and localized loss may have different causes. Assessment reviews progression, medical history and recent changes; examination may indicate a need for tests. A high forehead alone does not establish suitability.
Donor suitability matters
Thinning can also affect potential donor areas. Inadequate reserves may make transplantation unsuitable. Preserving existing hair and treating the cause remain important even when surgical options are discussed.
An individual female hairline
Planning considers facial proportions, contour, growth direction, styling and preferences. Softer transitions are often relevant, but the design is agreed individually. Lowering a hairline and increasing coverage are different goals that both use donor reserves.
Questions for the consultation
Ask whether the cause has been adequately assessed, whether shaving or styling changes would be needed and how follow-up would work. A no-shave procedure is not promised; feasibility is decided during assessment.
