Before leaving the consultation
Request written instructions on care, washing, activity and contact arrangements. Confirm follow-up dates and who answers questions. Do not change dressings or medicines based on social-media advice.
Assess progress in context
Recovery and hair changes vary between individuals. A single photograph cannot establish how the whole process is progressing. Increasing pain, fever, discharge or concerning symptoms warrant contacting the team or seeking medical care rather than waiting for a routine check.
Compare photographs thoughtfully
Lighting, angle, distance, length, wetness and styling affect appearance. Our 12 comparisons use original photographs with links to their Instagram posts. Follow-up months are shown only when documented in the source and do not promise a timeline for someone else.
Continue caring for existing hair
Transplantation does not automatically stop every cause of loss. Non-transplanted hair may need continuing assessment. International patients should agree how follow-up is organized and when an in-person examination is needed.
