Beyond the visible curl
The curl of the hair shaft and the path of the follicle beneath the skin are different assessment considerations. Harvesting plans take curvature and donor characteristics into account. Appearance alone does not establish the difficulty of a case.
Design and visual coverage
Curvature can influence the impression of volume, alongside calibre, length, styling and skin contrast. The same amount of hair can look different on different people; automatic density comparisons are not appropriate.
Identity and personal preferences
Hairline planning considers the face, age, loss pattern and personal or cultural preferences. Bring references to discuss what appeals to you. Another person’s photograph is a conversation starter, not an outcome that can be copied.
Scalp health comes first
Loss associated with repeated styling tension, inflammation or patches needs a diagnosis before surgical consideration. The doctor assesses options and follow-up with his team. Having a particular texture does not mean a transplant is needed or suitable.
